Children’s Earache

Earache can have several causes. It’s a good idea to see your GP if your child complains of a sore ear or your baby shows signs of ear pain.

Signs and Symptoms of Earache

Toddlers may react to their pain in a variety of manners including:

  • Pulling at their ears
  • Shoving fingers inside of their ears
  • Becoming extremely irritable
  • Vomiting
  • Loss of appetite
  • Low energy
  • Trouble hearing

Treating Childhood Earache

Earache treatment depends on the cause of the earache. Never try to remove an object from your child’s ear yourself.

It is recommended that you consult with your doctor. Your doctor will consider what’s causing the earache before deciding on treatment.
